Wembanyama Tossed for First Time in NBA Career

The 7-foot-4 French phenom was battling for an offensive rebound when he got tangled with Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels under the basket.

Frustrated by the physical defense, Wembanyama swung his right elbow backward and caught Reid directly in the neck and chin area. Officials instantly called an offensive foul before reviewing the play courtside.

After video review, referees upgraded the call to a Flagrant 2 foul for “unnecessary and excessive contact above the neck,” resulting in an automatic ejection.

It marked the first ejection of Wembanyama’s NBA career.

Target Center Crowd Explodes

Minnesota fans erupted immediately after the replay appeared on the arena screens.

The crowd loudly chanted “Kick him out!” while Wembanyama sat on the bench waiting for the decision.

According to reports, Wembanyama even appeared confused after the announcement and asked teammate Harrison Barnes, “What does that mean?” before heading to the locker room.
